Notice is hereby given that applications for Wreckers and Towers for the Borough of Elmwood Park for the 2026 Calendar Year will be available on our Borough website beginning on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, at 8:30AM. The filing deadline Friday, October 31st , 2025, no later than close of business. All applications will be accepted starting 10:30 a.m. beginning October 1st through October 31st, 2025. All applications will be investigated by the Police Department on a first-come-first-served basis. The first seven(7) towing contractors who submit completed applications to the Borough Clerk and who, upon investigation by the Police Department, are determined by the Police Department to successfully meet all of the requirements for towing services of this article shall be issued towing licenses (Ord. No. 2020-36). An application for a license as a proprietor of a towing or wrecking business shall be made by the person or firm engaged in operating a wrecker or wreckers. The fee for applying for such license shall be five hundred ($500.00) dollars. The application shall be made on forms furnished by the Police Department and provided in-person at Elmwood Park Police Headquarters or downloaded off the Borough website.
