The Recreation Complex, located on the corner of Boulevard and Market Street, has a gymnasium, weight room, game room, crafts room, a nutrition center and senior lounge.

Varied activities are provided by the Recreation Department for young residents, including tennis, basketball, basketball clinic, soccer, wrestling, and arts and crafts for the winter.

From September through June there is an ongoing after-school program, and in summer, a day camp program and after-camp program plus a Water Park Spray Ground for summer enjoyment. Other major programs during the year include soccer and tennis. Adult open gym and adult trips are planned to different points of interest.

Easter Egg Hunt. The Recreation Department also conducts several holiday events, which include an Easter Egg Hunt that is held on Boro field on the Saturday before Easter. Prizes are awarded to those finding a special bunny. All participants receive chocolate bunnies.

Halloween Contest is conducted for children ages 1 through 12. The contest is held in the Rec. Complex gym. Candy is given to all children wearing costumes. Special prizes will be awarded for outstanding costumes.

At Christmas time the Recreation Department sponsors a visit from Santa along with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Light refreshments are served.

Annual Town Festival. The festival will be held in June (date to be announced), and will feature a DJ, flea market, food, rides for the children, and live entertainment. All residents are welcome.

Registration for Walsh Pool in Fair Lawn. By special arrangement, Elmwood Park residents can register to use Walsh Pool, Dobrow Sports Complex, Harristown Road, Fair Lawn. For information, call Fair Lawn Recreation Department at 201-796-6746.
